Recent Pics

Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks. We are getting ready to celebrate Brooklyn's 2nd birthday soon. I can't believe she will be 2! We are first traveling to Houston for Miller's birthday and then the next weekend they are coming here for Brooklyn's birthday. Lots of cousin time!

We have been having at a lot of fun at Paradise Pond with our playgroup. The last picture is Brooklyn putting her doll on the potty. We had some success with the potty about a month ago but we are not interested in it right now.

Stella 4 month stats

Stella had her 4 month checkup yesterday and she is doing very good. She weighs 12 lbs 13 oz (27%) and is 24.5 inches (58%). She is a pound heavier than Brooklyn was at this age. She is a strong little girl. She is holding her head up really well when on her tummy and rolling over from tummy to back and trying the other way. The doctor said she can bear weight on her legs better than most 6 month olds. She may be my athlete. I need at least one athlete. She smiles a lot and I can get some giggles out of her when I try hard. I think she is going to be my blue eyed child. I can't believe it!

She is still sleeping from 8p-7a most of the time. Every now and then she wakes up. I am trying to stop swaddling her during the day but that is not going well. Brooklyn never skipped a beat after unswaddling but she is a perfect sleeper. I don't think you can get a better sleeper than her.

She is growing so fast! I feel like it is going a lot faster the second time just because I am busier. It seems like it took Brooklyn forever to get to 4 months old. I am trying to enjoy it more but the baby stage is very confining with naps and breastfeeding.

6 years of marriage

I thought I would make a post of pictures of us through the years dating and married. I am so happy to have been married to Laird for 6 years. We now have 2 great, beautiful girls and lots of memories through the years. The sad thing as I was looking through pictures to post is that we don't have a lot of us together since Brooklyn has been born. I am always trying so hard to capture memories of them that I forget in the craziness of things to get pictures of us. Anyone else have that problem?

Stella's Baptism

Stella was baptized today! We had a great weekend with family. Stella and Brooklyn did so good during the baptism. Stella was so pretty in her gown. She wore the gown Laird's dad (Poppy), Uncle Bill, Heather and Laird were baptized in. It is 75 years old. We got some great pics!

Chucke Cheese with Mary and boys

We met Mary, my friend from college at Chucke Cheese today. She was in town visiting her sister. Here are a few cute pictures of the boys hugging Brooklyn. The hugging ended up with both Brooklyn and John David falling on the floor and John David hitting his head. It seems that is the way all kids hugs end.

Brooklyn's First Haircut

Gammy and I took Brooklyn to get her first haircut. She did pretty good but it required us distracting her. She did like the hair dryer and said "again". I just got the back cut b/c I want to let the front grow out. Here are pics of the new do.

Vacation to Hill Country

Laird took off a week and we went to the Hill Country. We first made a stop in San Antonio at Pappy and Gammy's. The Fanning crew was supposed to meet us but Miller got sick before they were leaving. Brooklyn was looking forward to another fun bath time with Miller and Stella and Finn were going to meet for the first time. We went to the neighborhood pool with lots of fun water features. Brooklyn went down the little water slide (whales mouth). She was a little hesistant at first but she did it once and was hooked. We also went the Riverwalk and rode the boat and went to Boudro's and had a Prickly Pear Margarita. Then we headed to Nonna and Poppy's in Fredericksburg. We went to the pool there and Brooklyn went on a walk with Poppy and Boo and her babies in the stroller.
