Brooklyn turns 3!

They loved playing in the laundry hampers last week!

My baby girl turned 3 on Tuesday! It was kind of a crazy because her cousins left that day plus we were so tired and the house was a mess. We just went to dinner and then got a special treat after dinner (cookie). Brooklyn is growing up fast! She is really sweet natured but don't let her trick you...she is a negotiator. She will convince you and give you reasons why she should do things. She is definitely all girl and loves to boss her cousins around and Stella. She is potty trained during the day and still wears pull ups at night but she is dry every night for several months so we could probably be done. She is doing so good in her bed. She still is not a good eater and will not try new things or eat any fruit or vegetables. All in all we are very blessed with a sweet, beautiful girl.

Her stats at her checkup:

Weight - 28 lbs (25%)
Height - 36 inches (25%)

Stay tuned for pics from her birthday party on August 7th!

Week with Cousins

Last week Miller and Finn came for a week! They really had fun. All four of them fought over toys the whole week but nothing we could not handle. They should be good a sharing now! Ha! It was a great week but it ended a little bumpy with the stomach bug.

Summer fun!

We have had a busy, fun summer. I thought with Brooklyn being out of school it would be rough but we have been so busy it has been really fun. Both of the girls are doing swim lessons on 2 different days, we have had playgroups and have been going to Gymboree for the sibling class. There is barely a day that is open. I also have been taking them to Adventure Kids Playcare and that has been awesome for me! I feel so refreshed after a couple of hours running errands by myself. I love when I go pick them up.

Laird and I had a getaway to the Hyatt Lost pines and it was great! It is great kid place so we will take our kids in the future but there were other couples by themselves also. The girls were in good hands with Nonna, Poppy and Aunt Vivi. Then Laird took the rest of the week off and we went to the pool several times. Brooklyn is loving the water this year!

We also went to Great Wolf Lodge for the 4th with the Fannings and Martins. I highly recommend it. Brooklyn had a blast and they even had some fun slides for us. It was the first trip that did not seem like as much work. Brooklyn slept in a regular bed. It gives me hope that we can travel with them and they can sleep in a regular bed.

I also went to Houston one weekend to stay with my dad after his first round of chemo. Dad has been staying with Katie during his chemo in Houston. Katie has been busy and his "nurse" as well as take care of her 2 kids and work on the weekends. I am going again for his next treatment on August 9th to be with Dad. Please keep my Dad in your prayers and also Katie to be able to manage everything. She is doing a great job!

Katie, Miller and Finn are coming for a week to stay and play and then Brooklyn turns 3 on the 27th. Stay tuned for these pics!

Girls were so excited when we first got to Great Wolf Lodge (playing on the bed)

Stella 15 months

Stella has been 15 months for a couple of weeks. She has started listening to instructions and understands everything you say. She loves her snacks but still not drinking milk or eating much table food. She is recently eating more table food like chicken nuggets, pancakes etc. I have tried carnation instant breakfast to make her drink milk but she not like that. She does love water but everything has to be her idea. She is going to be strong willed. She is so sweet and has the biggest smile. She loves her sister but they do fight over toys. I am not sure who is stealing whos toys. It is a hard thing. Brooklyn wants whatever she has but Stella has to learn to share and take turns. She is starting swim lessons today so we will see how that goes. She is starting to pitch a fit every time you tell her "no" or she does not get what she wants. Eating is always going to be a challenge with my kids. Stella could eat all the baby food you would give her but she does not want to try new things.

When we are out everyone asks how old she is because she is walking but she looks smaller.

Weight - 18 lbs 12 oz, (5%)
Height - (35%) (did not get stat printout so do not know how many inches)

Things she says all the time - mama, dada, cracker, water, thank you, please, sh (shoes)
Things I have heard her say - pappy, boo (Nonna and Poppy's dog), sister,

Brooklyn's big girl bed

I could not decide what I was going to do about Brooklyn's big girl bed - convert to toddler or full. Her crib converts to a toddler bed and full bed. We decided to go ahead and start with toddler bed and then buy the mattress later and make it a full bed. So I got some cute but cheap bedding at Target that we can also use for Stella. She loves her big girl bed and she has not gotten out of it at night but she has been known to play a little at nap time before she goes to sleep.

Aunts, uncles, cousins, friends!

We went to Houston for 3 nights and saw every aunt, uncle, cousin and even some friends. We stayed with Katie for 2 nights without Laird and it was fun but crazy. It is hard to do it without Daddy when you have a clingy Stella. It always takes a night to get the sleeping arrangements down. The first night was not good. We stayed with the Duncans on Saturday night and got to play with Fiona.
