ABQ trip

We went to Albuquerque for a week to visit Laird's uncle's family. We rented a house with The Sparks clan. It took Brooklyn a couple of days to get adjusted to her pack n play and the time change. By about Wednesday she had adjusted. The weather was great there (85-90 during day and 60's at night). We had dinner at friends house at the top of a mountain and it was in the 50's. It was a good break from the Texas weather.

11 months

Since I did not post at 11 months here is the 11 month update a little late. She is almost 12 months. She has now been taking formula from a sippy cup for about a month and at the moment she is doing really good. We have had many ups and downs. She is getting better at finger foods and has become quite the beggar lately. I think she is having a growth spurt. She will stand momentarily but rarely lets go by herself. We are still a little ways from walking. We also noticed when we got back from ABQ that Brooklyn got her first tooth. The whole time I had been looking for it on the bottom but Kim found it on the top. So she will not be toothless on her first birthday. Not any real words maybe bye-bye sometimes or we think we hear certain words. She can turn the pages of books and is starting to pick up on commands. Thanks to Aunt Heather for all of the books. She is her book supplier.

Miller's visit

Miller came to visit for 5 days while Laird went to Canada on a work fishing trip. We had a good time except Miller was sick the last 2 days. Miller loves Brooklyn and tries to be sweet but he is not so gentle and Brooklyn does not like him invading her space. Anything that Brooklyn is doing Miller comes to see what the fun is all about and steal her toys. They absolutely wore us out!

Nac weekend

We went to Nac this weekend because Poppy was having a homecoming and preaching in Nac for the first time since he retired. It was a great weekend! There was a Fish Fry on Saturday night and he preached on Sunday. Brooklyn was a perfect angel all weekend. She started taking her sippy cup really good and did really good in the nursery at chruch.

Swim Debut

We went to San Antonio this weekend because my Dad had a mild stroke/seizure but he is ok thankfully. He scared us! Please continue to pray that he does not have anymore of these episodes. Gammy and Pappy sure do have a fun kiddie pool area in their neighborhood and the babies got to enjoy it while we were there. This was Brooklyn's first time in the pool. She loved it! It ended up being a great weekend for Brooklyn and Miller to hang out. Laird parent's came on Saturday and watched the babies while we went to the hospital. They had fun I think on their 39th wedding anniversary.

10 months

Brooklyn was 10 months yesterday. She is very mobile now. She is crawling, pulling up on everything and even crawling up the stairs (we need to install some gates). She is also able to push and walk with her lion push toy. It is not perfected so the lion gets out in front of her and she catches up to it. I don't have any pictures crawling up the stairs but I will get some.

Kim's wedding

The wedding was great! Everything went off without a hitch. Brooklyn had her schedule thrown for a loop but other than that it was a great and busy weekend. We stayed in a hotel downtown Sat night but Brooklyn decided she did not want to sleep in the hotel so we drove back to Southlake at 3:30 in the morning.
